Some battles never end. They just move home.

Palm Court Detectives isn't just another detective series.

It's a series about a warrior learning how to live in peace...until peace refuses to cooperate.

Read all four Palm Court novels in one complete collection.

Meet Jesse Yates.

A former Navy SEAL who
survived the battlefields of Iraq only to discover that civilian life can be
just as dangerous.

Now working as an
investigator for Palm Court Detectives in Mobile, Alabama, Jesse finds himself
facing terrorists beneath the Mobile River, murderous feuds hidden deep in
Delta swamps, powerful men with deadly secrets, and desperate people with
nowhere left to run.

Combining authentic
detective work, unforgettable characters, military realism, and the unique
atmosphere of Alabama's Gulf Coast, it’s a series readers have called
"hard
to put down," "a must-read,"
and "one of my top ten
favorite series."

If you're ready to

Sometimes the hard road is
the only option.

won't happen overseas. It will happen beneath the Mobile River.

clan of swamp dwellers doesn’t fight by any rules he learned in Iraq.

  • The hometown hero everyone
loved is dead in the most shocking murder in Mobile's 316-year history.

  • Yesterday she was another runaway riding a boxcar south to the Gulf. Today she's Jesse Yates's
only chance to clear a fellow veteran of murder.

  • It's 1943,
and Mobile, Alabama is a wartime boomtown filled with bedlam and intrigue—a WWII detective story that’s a bit of a prequel to the Palm Court series.

I've been a soldier, a newspaper reporter, a copywriter and a long-haul truck driver. In each of those careers, I came across characters and events that would not leave me alone until I sat down at the keyboard and told their stories.

I grew up a Hoosier but now my wife Carol and I live in her hometown of Mobile, Alabama. I may complain about the heat in summer and lack of snow in winter, but the Gulf Coast is the perfect setting for Jesse Yates and the rest of the
Palm Court crew.
